ASHHAD QURESHI

CLASS OF 2014

O Levels: The C.A.S School (9A*s 1A)

Home is where the heart is- and bizarrely enough, a part of my heart had already been merged with the enlightening concept that is Nixor, back when it became one of my brother’s usual haunts. It is what I had always aspired to become a part of.

According to Howard Gardner’s ‘Theory of Multiple Intelligences’, every person is diverse and excels in one of the many forms of intelligence. Nixor also strongly upholds this concept and does not confine itself to the narrow definition of intelligence, with the introduction of sports scholarships being further testament to this fact. Nixor is a balance where fun and learning coincide flawlessly and I am truly grateful to belong to this distinctive ‘Nixor’ culture where students come to college not because they have to, but because they WANT to; where education is not a burden but an indispensable opportunity and a privilege.

When my brother was in Nixor, I longed to be a part of Nixor and many a times had I looked at my brother’s ID card and wondered if I would ever have my picture on it. And thankfully, that moment finally arrived. I believe it’s worth mentioning, however, that despite the many qualities that makes Nixor stand out amongst all others, it is not for everyone.  It is imperative that you not only understand Nixor’s Core Values, but uphold them and translate them in everything that you do, anywhere and everywhere. You must strive for excellence, struggle for what is right but most importantly, do it for the right reasons. I cannot stress enough on the fact that it is crucial that you weigh your priorities and goals before selecting Nixor as your primary choice for A Levels.

“The potential of the average person is like a huge ocean unsailed, a new continent unexplored, a world of possibilities waiting to be released and channeled toward some great good.” -Brian Tracy.

Nixor celebrates that; it celebrates you.
