Nixor Corporate

Nixor Corporate is a bridge program that helps connect an academic experience with the skills necessary for success in the corporate world. This program, through its various student-run entities, contributes to a wide range of sectors including Finance, Engineering, Education, Healthcare, Music, and Social Welfare etc. The program offers functional training in Finance, Operations, Communications, Marketing, and general Management. Executive Teams identify unmet market needs and develop products and projects that leverage their skills and strengths to address these needs.

Adopt an Orphanage

It is a non-profit entity founded in 2010 with the aim of tending to the essential needs of those individuals, regardless of gender, race or religion, who have been deprived of a family. It helps manage two orphanages, Sirat-ul-Jannah and Anjuman Hayat-ul-Islam, providing for them in terms of healthcare, education, accommodation and various other day-to-day requirements.

Taleem Sab Ke Liye (Translation - Education for All)

It is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 to provide education to children and adults. In addition to the traditional curriculum, it includes general awareness, vocational training, learning environment and other meaningful extracurricular activities like art, sports and computer literacy. The classrooms range from the traditional school building environment to a kiosk in an alley or a sidewalk. Students are typically between the ages of 4-16 yrs.  Some classes are also designed for continuing education for underemployed adults.

Nixor Journalism

It is a project actively working to underline the issues within the community, connect with young and established leaders in the community and be the voice of the student on the Nixor College campus.  Broadcast channels include print, radio (live and podcast), blogs, e-newsletters, photo-journalism and the annual year yearbook.

Nixor IT

It is a student run entity established in 2010 to keep Nixor College on the forefront of technological advancements. Since its inception, Nixor IT has worked on developing and marketing online collaboration tools, building and managing websites, live streaming of inter-school sports events and several other initiatives. Most recently, Nixor IT has introduced an exclusive password protected social network called e-shark where students and teachers alike can interact with each other to share ideas, ask questions, work within online study groups, share notes lectures and video, as well as conduct polls and surveys.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nixor Records

Nixor Records, established in 2009, is a student-run record label at Nixor College that broadcasts and promotes music produced by students of Nixor College. Using the in-house recording facilities, Nixor Records has produced three albums of original tracks, countless covers, and several commissioned songs.  Its current project is a musical, premiering in December 2013.  It provides a platform for the youth to channel their music to the masses, as well as gain exposure to the processes associated with music production, distribution, business and event management, all the while exploring their creative side and working in a corporate environment.

Nixor Hospital

It is a non-profit entity, established in 2009, to help bridge the gap between quality medical care and the underprivileged segments of the population. This is achieved by conducting regular medical camps in slums, remote villages where patients are given a free check-up along with appropriate medications. Individual cases which require special treatment such as surgery, for example cornea replacement, prosthetic limbs, leukemia treatment are also offered free of charge.  Students conduct blood drives on and off-campus.

Nixor Financial Services

Established in 2010, Nixor Financial Services offers wide array financial services to the students of Nixor College and members of its Community in the lower income segment.  Microfinance, venture capital, lockers-for-hire are some of its prior achievements. NFS offers financial literacy classes.  Students and faculty can invest in a mutual fund managed by student of NFS.  Most recently, students the SUIT or Student Utility Interface Terminal which is Pakistan's first student operated and initiated credit card.

Senior Citizens Welfare Program

It is a non-profit entity established in 2011 to tend to the needs of one of the most neglected segments of the population – senior citizens. Its mission is to provide physical and emotional support to the senior citizens and create awareness among people of the advantages of multi-generational family dwellings.  Currently, this organization is affiliated with two old-age homes.

Hamara Ghar (Our Home)

Established in September 2008, this is the oldest entity at Nixor College.  Every year students take on projects to repair and rebuild existing homes and schools and construct new homes for families affected by natural disasters or targeted attacks. Some projects require students to camp at the worksite for 1-2 weeks.  Generally the student labor and materials are provided free of charge to deserving families after thorough screening of beneficiaries

Nixor Engineering Solutions

NES was established in 2009 and it offers students the opportunity to devote their energies to practical implementation of theoretical concepts. Every year students propose and build new projects.  Some of the more noteworthy accomplishments include a 17’ aluminium speed boat built from scratch, a go-cart, and a restored 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser.  Currently students are working on a electronic phone recharging station with a arduino chip, a 37-step Rube Goldberg machine and scaling up a Biodiesel facility to provide all in-house fuel needs for the Nixor Shuttle fleet.

Nixor Logistics

One oldest and most prolific student groups on campus, this entity was established in 2008.  It specializes in event management, large scale resource management and supply chain management. The entity’s purpose is to manage and conduct an event by taking responsibility of all the logistical aspects. It provides the assistance of catering, décor, work force, marketing, cash management, onsite security, screening, sales and promotions to ensure flawless execution of events, both inside and outside the Nixor Campus. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nixor Studio

Nixor Studio is an entirely student run entity established in 2011 and is now the exclusive photographer for Nixor College. It provides services in Photography, Videography, Editing, Graphics Designing and various other related services in Nixor College. Nixor Studios is at the forefront of covering college events and embodying memorable moments on to a stunning digital canvas.

Meri Bhi Aik Khuwaish Hai (translation - I Too Have a Wish)

It is a non-profit organization with the primary aim of fulfilling the wishes of the mentally and physically disabled and the terminally ill individuals of the community in order to give them a sense of love and belonging. One of its achievements include Deaf Theatre which provides a platform for the children with special needs to showcase their theatrical talent and affirms their waning belief that they are a valuable part of society. Periodic visits with gifts for children in hospital, outings to local eateries are more routine activities for MBAKH.
